At just 17 years old, New York City native Izzy Pingrey is using music as a diary to document her coming-of-age journey in real time. She first picked up songwriting at 13 during the loneliness of pandemic lockdowns, using it as an emotional outlet. Now a high school senior preparing to release “roots”, the first single from her followup EP, Izzy’s confessional lyrics and energetic sound provide a vulnerable lens into the revelations and relationships of adolescence.

Izzy’s debut EP, junior, was well received on Spotify and YouTube and propelled a sold out show in New York City in March 2024. As EARMILK raved, "With its irresistible hooks and Izzy's signature fervor…invites listeners into a world where vulnerability is celebrated and authenticity reigns supreme."

“roots” continues the guitar based sound that Izzy established, but shows a natural progression as she turns inward and reflects on major life changes as she prepares to graduate from highschool and looks towards the future while reminiscing about her childhood. Izzy explains: “roots is a song that I wrote after receiving an automated “letter to your future self” that I wrote when I was twelve. It explores the bittersweet feelings of changing and getting older as what is essentially a response to twelve-year-old me and her questions about teenage life.”
